To those waiting for the next MacBook Air, if the refresh includes Sandy Bridge and a backlit keyboard however has Intel HD Graphics 3000 as the GPU, will you simply pick up this generation's unit at a discount or opt for the refresh?
There are arguments that Sandy Bridge won't be noticeable in actual day to day activities like browsing the web and watching HD movies however it is argued that the graphics will take a big hit, especially when looking at the 13" MacBook Pros.

Moving from Outlook is a good think no matter what. The databases used stinks. It chokes at about a million records and sooner or later, it will slow down, become lazy and before you know it... done. Corrupted... just like a US politician. :D
Oh, I know. i've forced most of our employees to move to Web based as we use Google Apps, but a few select have been allowed to stick with Outlook on the Windows side (or in this case Mail.app on OS X).

Why would they do that? Support for Exchange 2003 is going away. Microsoft gave a roadmap 5 years ago which showed companies when to start planning Exchange upgrades.
Here's the deal. Exchange is one of those Microsoft products that they made too damn well. To the point there really isn't a value to upgrading. If anything it's harmful to do so as they started removing critical features such as journaling. Then you talk about the thousands and thousands of dollars to invest to make such a change only to kill off valuable features, and I don't blame companies for not rushing to get off of it. Same deal with Windows 7 - some companies are doing it, but most aren't, because there isn't a compelling enough reason to spend that money, especially not in large enterprises.
Microsoft knows that. That's why the Windows version of Office 2010 fully supports Exchange 2003. Don't sit here and try to defend them - there IS NO defense. They gutted the Mac version for one reason - they don't want Mac users to have a version of Office that is similar or superior to what Windows users have. Why would they?
Anyone who seriously believes the fairy tale about dropping support for Exchange I ask you - why then does Microsoft support it still in 2010 Office and always have? Betcha don't have a valid answer, but I do. Microsoft knows the game and how to play it.

I just don't understand all the speculation over the last 3 years regarding carriers for the iPhone. Get over it, people. If it happens, it happens and Apple will announce it. Until then, ANY carrier is a viable candidate.

No manufacturer is going to develop LTE unless it is cheap as America in limited areas is the only place you can use it really? What manufacturer is going to literally waste money? I highly doubt we will see it, but maybe the US version will have it and follow what others have done?
I don't really care to be honest as I only use it to browse the web when I'm out and as in the UK it's a case of who knows when we get LTE, I'm not holding my breath! 3G FTW!!

Since the Mic port turned into Line-In, there hasn't been any power on the port, requiring a powered input or amp. However, on the Headset jacks that support the iPhone mic on them, do have a built-in mic, even on the MacBook, but only when using the 3rd sleeve that the iPhone mic cable has.

don't take this the wrong way, but these "biggots" you speak of are a lot like the born-again christians that corner you at the coffee machine trying to get you to go to church with them. (in fact, i even remember a mac fac site called "evangelista"!) macs offer simplicity, stability, and peace of mind--we do not have to travel through the blue screen of death, because the mac is with us! most of us, at one time, were just like you, using those evil windoze machines. but now "we have seen the light!" and can't possibly imagine how you could continue in your suffering. you don't know the peace you could have if you just gave the mac a chance. do you see the metaphor here?
and one thing many windoze people say is, "if macs are so much better, why only 5% market share?" well, christianity started with less market share than that, and it is certainly better than baal or ishtar, just to name a few!

It would be nice if this worked in the other direction as well--i.e., from a computer to an iOS/AirPlay device. (Yes, I know about AirFoil and friends.)
