Applicants for visitor visas should generally apply the U.S. Embassy or Consulate with jurisdiction over their place of permanent residence. Although visa applicants may apply at any U.S. consular office abroad, it may be more difficult to qualify for the visa outside the country of permanent residence. Visa applications are now subject to a greater degree of review than in the past so it is important to apply for your visa well in advance of your travel departure date.
As part of the visa application process, an interview at the embassy consular section is required for visa applicants from age 14 through 79, with few exceptions. Persons age 13 and younger, and age 80 and older, generally do not require an interview, unless requested by embassy or consulate. Making your appointment for an interview is the first step in the visa application process. The waiting time for an interview appointment for applicants can vary, so early visa application is strongly encouraged. Visa wait times for interview appointments and visa processing time information for each U.S. Embassy or Consulate worldwide is available on our website at Visa Wait Times, and on most embassy websites. Learn how to schedule an appointment for an interview, pay the application processing fee, review embassy specific instructions, and much more by visiting the U.S. Embassy or Consulate website where you will apply.
During the visa application process, usually at the interview, an ink-free, digital fingerprint scan will be quickly taken. Some visa applications require further administrative processing, which takes additional time after the visa applicants interview by a Consular Officer.

i had been to SBA and the free seminars for entrepreneurs conducted by them. They hold one-one meetings and try to know what you exactly want to do and tell you how to proceed. It is an goverment organization with volunteers who are reteired high ranking officers from different field. They gave me brochures and booklets and told me to write a business plan. Anyway, you can google SBA and find the nearest local office and ask them for a appointment.

Charleh,
Thank you for the clear, concise reply. That is exactly what I needed and it works fine. You're right, I will have to read up on the tableadapters. After getting your suggestion working, I immediately wanted go to designing a small form to manage my metadata tables.
I will start another thread regarding that, however. I want to ask about enforcing referential integrity and self-incrementing unique id's.
Thanks again.

Yes only after I-140 approval of both LC's.
When we do dual filing with PERM...
Can we transfer the PD of (approved : EB3 + I140 ) to PERM ( EB2 )?

Thanks. Yes, I am an Indian citizen.
Do I need NO status even if I were on the company's pay roll and getting paid in US dollars while working outside US?
---Once you leave US, you are not in any status, even if you have a visa stamp or H1 approval. If you are a H1B beneficiary, an US employer cannot put you in US payroll, if you are not physically present in US, working at the worklocation specified in LCA. The only exeption is if you go for a short vacation while working in US in H1B. You should be a US citizen or LPR, to be in US payroll without physically present in US.
In spite of their gracious offer to allow me to work remote, I do foresee a need where they would require my presence (a week or so at a time). Will B1 cover a visit to the company that I am getting paid for? Or, is there a type of B visa that allows me to visit the company and actually work for it?
---There is no such B visa that gives work authorization in US. The best advise is start a bussiness in India and do the service to your US client and incoive them and get the money in US doller. Wehn you are ready to come to US, request them to sponser H1; any way H1B quota is never going to fill.
If you/any others help me point to someone who can help me with IRS implications, that would be great. I don't expect this to be simple, thus my effort to do it the right way. The last thing I would want after spending 10 years here is to break the law.
My company and I will consult before signing on the dotted line. This is just ground work and thanks for all who take the time to answer these questions.

So am still little confused... Should I go this route... The reason is the company who is willing to do my GC is doing also in good faith. But with the economy the way it shapes up... they are not sure, but as a good faith they did agree to start my GC process. Well I will be bearing the lawyer expenses...they would manage the mandatory fees. So they have very little to loose.
What do you guys suggest! I have heard many people who work with company A and GC is done by Company B ... ( Correct me if I am wrong here)
Appreciated

I'm on H4. I have got an offer from a company and they will do my H1
I have few questions
1)How easy it is to transfer H1's to another company? What documents I need?
2)Is it possible to convert back to h4? I have 2 kids so I might have to convert back to H4 from h1 if I cannot take the stress.
what documents do I need?Do I need to go out of US for this?
3)Once back on H4, and in future If I want to get back on h1, Am I subject to cap?

Sorry for opening a new thread, Please point me to the thread if this issue is already addressed in some other thread and delete this thread.
I filed my I-485 in July, Still waiting for receipts, Now my company got acquired by another company. My questions are-
Any actions required from my side? What will happen to my I-485 which is already filed, Do I need to re-file with new company?
If I get EAD in next few weeks can I use that EAD after 6 months of filing I485?
Thanks
I had the same situation when before I apply my GC my company was taken over by my current employer ... there is something called 'successor of interest' .... as I understand the new company will take over ownership of any H1/GC etc that you have with your previous employer ...
this is just my thoughts .. better you get it verified by your lawer ...
